Privacy Policy
SCOPE AND DEFINITIONS
Transport Sigouin ("we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of our customers' personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you interact with us, whether in person, by phone, by email, or through our website at transportsigouin.com.
This Privacy Policy (the "Privacy Policy") explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect the personal information of our customers and Website users ("you"), describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide to us, and outlines our practices for collecting, using, retaining, protecting, and disclosing that information. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13; the Website is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed at children or intended to be used by children.
We will only use your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, except as otherwise required by applicable law. We take steps to ensure that the personal information we collect about you is adequate, relevant, not excessive, and used for limited purposes. Canadian privacy laws generally define "Personal Information" as any information about an identifiable individual, which includes any information that can be used alone or in combination with other information to identify, contact, or locate a person.
By accessing or using the Website, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy and consent to our processing of your information in accordance with it. We may amend or update this Privacy Policy from time to time; if we make changes that materially affect your privacy rights, we will notify you. Your continued use of the Website or our services following any such change will constitute your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. However, where required by law, we will seek your renewed consent to the updated terms.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT OR MAY BE REQUIRED TO COLLECT
We may collect and use several types of information about you, including:
-
Information about your communication preferences.
-
Personal Information that we can reasonably use to identify you, directly or indirectly, such as your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, IP (Internet Protocol) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, username or any other identifier, billing and similar account information, and any other identifier we may use to contact you online or offline.
-
Non-personal information that does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity or relate directly to an identified individual, such as demographic, statistical, or aggregated information. Statistical or aggregated data does not directly identify a specific individual, but we may derive non-personal statistical or aggregated data from Personal Information. For example, we may aggregate Personal Information to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific feature of the Website.
-
Usage information, including your login details, IP address, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, or information about your Internet connection, the equipment you use to access the Website, and usage details.
-
Non-personal details about your Website interactions, including full URLs, clickstream data to, through, and from our Website (including date and time), products you have viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), methods used to navigate away from a page, and any phone number used to call our customer service line.
HOW WE COLLECT INFORMATION
Information You Provide to Us
Information we collect directly from you may include information you provide:
-
When you communicate with us: When you contact us to do business with us or for any other inquiry, we collect the content of those communications, as well as any additional information about the communication channel used, including phone, SMS, email, chat, and social media platforms. For example, if you send us an email, we will collect your email address; if you send us an SMS, we will collect your phone number, and so on.
-
Other information you provide online: This includes information provided when you subscribe to our service, post material, or request other services such as a quote. We may also ask for information when you participate in a contest or promotion sponsored by us, or when you report a problem with our Website.
Information We Collect When You Interact With Us Through Cookies and Other Automatic Data-Collection Technologies
-
When you browse and interact with the Website, we may use cookies or other automatic data-collection technologies to gather certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including: details of your visits to the Website such as traffic data, location data, logs and other communication data, and the resources you access and use on the Website, as well as information about your computer and Internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type.
-
We may also use these technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites or other online services (behavioural tracking). To learn more or to opt out of personalized advertising, please visit the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada opt-out tool to learn how you can opt out of behavioural tracking on this Website and to find out how we respond to web browser signals and other mechanisms that allow consumers to exercise choice regarding behavioural tracking.
-
The information we collect automatically is statistical data and does not include Personal Information. However, we may retain it or associate it with Personal Information that we collect through other means, that you provide to us, or that we receive from third parties. It helps us improve the Website and deliver a better, more personalized experience — for instance, by enabling us to estimate our audience size and usage patterns, store information about your preferences to customize the Website to your interests, speed up your searches, and recognize you when you return to the Website.
The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:
-
Cookies (or browser cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on your computer's hard drive. You may refuse browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting in your browser. However, if you do so, you may be unable to access certain parts of the Website. Unless you have adjusted your browser settings to refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when your browser connects to the Website.
-
Flash Cookies. Certain features of the Website may use local stored objects (or Flash cookies) to collect and store information about your preferences and navigation to, from, and on the Website. Flash cookies are not managed by the same browser settings used for browser cookies.
-
Web Beacons. Pages of the Website [and our emails] may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that allow us, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or [opened an email] and to compile other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain website content and verifying system and server integrity).
Information We Collect About You From Third Parties
We may receive Personal Information about you from various third parties and public sources, such as credit card issuers, financial partners, and data analytics companies. We may collect information about you in connection with investigations of fraudulent or criminal activity on the Website and in our facilities. We may also collect information from other sources, including, for example, joint marketing partners, data analytics companies, public databases, publicly accessible social media pages, and other third parties with whom we work.
-
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc., to help measure traffic and usage trends. Google Analytics sets a cookie to evaluate your use of the Website and to compile reports for us on Website activity, helping us understand how visitors interact with the Website and track visitor interactions. Google Analytics collects information anonymously, without identifying individual visitors. Google stores the information collected by the cookie on servers in the United States and may also transfer it to third parties where required by law or where those third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google states that it will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. By accessing this Website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes described above. To disable this type of cookie, some browsers indicate when a cookie is being sent and allow you to refuse cookies on a case-by-case basis. In addition to refusing cookies, you may install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, which prevents Google Analytics from collecting information about your browser visits. For more information about the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on and Google Analytics privacy information, visit https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245.
-
Facebook Conversion Tracking Pixel. We also use Facebook Pixel, which allows us to understand and serve ads in a way that is more relevant to you. Data collected remains anonymous — we cannot see the personal data of any individual user. However, the collected data is recorded and processed by Facebook. Facebook may be able to link that data to your Facebook account and use it for its own advertising purposes, in accordance with Facebook's Data Use Policy at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. Facebook retains ultimate control over information collected through Facebook Pixel. You may disable Facebook's use of cookies and Facebook Pixel through your Facebook account settings.
-
Microsoft Bing UET. Our Website also uses Bing Ads technology to collect and store data for the purpose of creating pseudonymous usage profiles. This is a service of Microsoft Corporation. It allows us to track the activity on our Website of users who arrived via Bing Ads. If you access our Website through such an ad, a cookie will be placed on your computer. A Bing UET tag is embedded on our Website — a piece of code used to store non-personal information related to the cookie regarding Website usage, including, among other things, time spent on the Website, sections of the Website visited, and the ad that brought users to the Website. No information about your identity will be collected. The information gathered is transmitted to and stored on Microsoft servers in the United States for a maximum of 180 days. You may prevent the collection and processing of cookie-generated data related to your Website usage by disabling cookie storage, though this may limit Website functionality. Additionally, through cross-device tracking, Microsoft may be able to track your usage behaviour across multiple electronic devices to display personalized ads on or within Microsoft websites and applications. You may opt out at http://choice.microsoft.com/en-us/opt-out. For more information about Bing analytics services, visit the Bing Ads website at https://help.bingads.microsoft.com/#apex/3/en/53056/2. For more information about privacy at Microsoft and Bing, see Microsoft's Privacy Statement at https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-ca/privacystatement.
Information We Generate Ourselves
We may aggregate and/or anonymize Personal Information so that it is no longer considered Personal Information. We do this to generate other data for our own use, which we may use and disclose for any purpose. For example, we may calculate the percentage of Website users with a particular area code.

We use your information, including your Personal Information, to manage our business and to maintain and develop our commercial relationships with you. We will collect, use, and disclose such information only to the extent necessary for those purposes.

-
To notify you of changes to the Website or any products or services we offer or provide through it.

In any other manner we may describe when you provide the information.
-
For any other purpose with your consent.
Your Personal Information is also accessible to our employees or representatives who require it in the performance of their duties. Those employees or representatives are required to maintain its confidentiality at all times and must regularly participate in security and privacy training and awareness activities.
HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
We will not rent or sell your information to third parties without your consent. We only share your data as specifically provided for in this Privacy Policy.
Sharing With Our Partners
We may provide your data, including your Personal Information, to our subsidiaries and group companies, to third parties that provide services to you or to us — such as Ta Gueule Communications inc., which developed and operates this Website — to promotional partners, social networks, or other third parties as necessary to carry out our business activities or to comply with a legal obligation.
Where applicable, and only after obtaining your prior authorization, we may share certain information about you with the manufacturer or any insurer involved in your vehicle repair claim. Please note that each of these entities defines its own privacy policy, and we accept no responsibility in relation to those policies.
Other Disclosures
In addition to any disclosure you may have consented to or authorized under the terms of this Privacy Policy, we may transfer your data, including your Personal Information, to third parties in the following limited circumstances:
1) information you expressly consent to share;
2) where the information is anonymous (individuals cannot be identified);
3) where you choose to make information indexable by search engines, share or broadcast it to others, or otherwise make it publicly accessible;
4) to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, inside or outside your country of residence, where we believe in good faith that the law requires it;
5) to enforce this Privacy Policy, our terms, or any agreement, including investigating potential violations thereof;
6) to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security issues, or technical problems, or to protect our operations or protect you;

9) where necessary in the context of delivering requested services or solutions, or as appropriate given a legitimate business need.
HOW WE RETAIN AND SECURE YOUR INFORMATION
Information Security
We are committed to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your Personal Information. We have implemented appropriate physical and technological security measures and procedures designed to prevent your Personal Information from being lost, misused, altered, or accessed in an unauthorized or otherwise illegitimate manner. Examples of such measures include restricted access to our offices, staff training, the use of passwords, and well-defined internal policies and practices. We also use Secure Socket Layer ("SSL") encryption technology in all areas of the Website where your personal account information is required, meaning that Personal Information you submit through the Website is encrypted by your computer and decrypted on our end.
Your personal account information and transaction history are kept behind a firewall.
In addition, we limit access to your Personal Information to our employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties who have a business need to know it. They are required to process your Personal Information only in accordance with our instructions and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
Our service providers are required to maintain adequate security protections designed to help safeguard your Personal Information and are not permitted to use it for any purpose other than providing their services to us.
Unfortunately, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Any transmission you provide is at your own risk. Once your information is received, we will apply our security practices to attempt to prevent unauthorized access, use, and/or disclosure. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure — for example, if you believe that the security of any account you may have with us has been compromised — please notify us immediately by contacting us as described in the "How to Contact Us" section below.
Retention and Destruction of Information
We will retain your Personal Information for as long as necessary to:
1) provide the products and services you have requested;
2) communicate with you regarding a purchase or inquiry you have made;
3) manage the choices you have made and the rights you have exercised under this Privacy Policy;
4) allow you to maintain an account with us;
5) comply with our legal and regulatory obligations and to demonstrate such compliance; and
6) resolve disputes and enforce our rights and agreements.
We may retain non-personal information that has been sufficiently aggregated or anonymized for a longer period.
Once the applicable retention period has expired, we will dispose of your Personal Information as set out in our internal data retention and disposal policy.
Transfers Outside Québec
By providing us with Personal Information, you acknowledge that it may be communicated to or retained outside of Québec or Canada by us or by one of our service providers or partners.
In such cases, we take steps to ensure that your Personal Information receives adequate protection, including in accordance with generally recognized data protection principles considered reasonable in the circumstances.
ACCESS TO AND CORRECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
It is important that the Personal Information we hold about you is accurate and up to date. Please keep us informed of any changes to your Personal Information. The law gives you the right to request access to the Personal Information we hold about you and to have it corrected.

We may ask you for specific information to help us confirm your identity and your right of access, and to provide you with the Personal Information we hold about you or to make the changes you have requested. Applicable law may authorize or require us to refuse you access to some or all of the Personal Information we hold about you, or we may have destroyed, erased, or anonymized your Personal Information in accordance with our record-keeping obligations and practices. If we are unable to provide you with access to your Personal Information, we will advise you of the reasons, subject to any legal or regulatory restrictions.
WITHDRAWAL OF CONSENT
Where you have provided your consent to the collection, use, and transfer of your Personal Information, you may have the legal right to withdraw that consent in certain circumstances. To withdraw your consent, where applicable, please contact us as described in the "How to Contact Us" section below. Please note that if you withdraw your consent, we may be unable to provide you with a particular product or service.
We also offer all users the ability to unsubscribe from our email communications or to decline to be contacted for marketing or informational purposes, using the unsubscribe mechanism found at the bottom of our emails.

This Website contains links to other websites. They are provided for reference purposes only and may have privacy practices and policies that differ from ours. We are not responsible for — and this Privacy Policy does not address — the privacy practices of other third parties, such as Google, Meta, Apple, Microsoft, or any other application developer or social media platform. If you choose to use any of these services, your Personal Information will be collected by that third party and will be subject to its privacy policy. Please review the privacy policies posted on any third-party websites you may access through this Website before submitting Personal Information to them. The individual must provide their name, contact information including a phone number, and the subject and grounds of their complaint, with sufficient detail for it to be assessed. If the complaint is not sufficiently specific, the Privacy Officer may request any additional information deemed necessary to evaluate it.
Processing of Complaints
We are committed to handling all complaints received in a confidential manner.
Within 30 days of receiving the complaint, or of receiving all additional information the Privacy Officer has deemed necessary to process it, the Privacy Officer must assess the complaint and provide the complainant with a written, reasoned response by email. This assessment will determine whether the handling of personal information complies with this Privacy Policy, any other policies and practices in place within the organization, and applicable legislation or regulations.
Should the complaint be unable to be processed within that timeframe, the complainant must be informed of the reasons for the extension, the current status of the complaint, and the reasonable additional time required to provide a final response.
It is also possible to file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or any other privacy oversight authority responsible for enforcing the legislation relevant to the subject matter of the complaint.
However, we encourage anyone wishing to do so to first contact the Privacy Officer and await the outcome of that process.

We will endeavour to respond within 30 days, as required by law. If you subsequently wish to have some or all of that Personal Information removed from our database, you may submit such a request, bearing in mind that doing so may affect our ability to provide you with the information, products, or services you may request from us in the future.
